A year ago, I was unemployed and trying to find things around the house to keep me occupied.  Now, I have two adjunct positions with different colleges and plenty of classwork to keep me MORE than occupied.  But that’s all good…I actually enjoy the idea of being employed, and helping students learn the class material.  I even get the chance to dispense a few opinions on life along the way — and attempt to infect the students with a little more enthusiasm for life in general.  My first class reviews have been largely positive – even with some unorthodox teaching methods – such as utilizing a super-ball to simulate the passing of a security token between a user’s computer and a server.  It certainly gets their attention – and certainly gets them involved in the overall discussion at hand.

What I haven’t had time to do:  the podcast.  That will change on Monday, since classes are currently in Final Exam mode.  Being caught up on grades, I’ll have the chance to catch up on getting a podcast ep out.

In the meantime – there’s been lots of news.  Osama bin Laden is dead.  Great.  Glad it happened.  Glad its done.  I sure would like to see the troops brought home now.  But that’s not my call — and I’m not going to spend time criticizing the Administration over the choices they make concerning that.  To me, that’s just not productive time spent on my part.  I’m not going to whoop it up in the streets either.  Celebrating an individual’s death — even someone such as this — is not an appropriate thing in my mind.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not about to mourn the guy either.  I just see celebrating someone’s death as an inappropriate thing, regardless of who they are.  So, basically, enough said there….

Over the course of the next week, I’ll be planting my jalapenos and green onions for this year.  Last year, I only did the jalapenos and had a massive yield of three peppers.  I’m certainly hope for a better yield this year.  LOL  But I really like planting my own food-stuffs.  I may not be great at it – but I get to watch the entire cycle of growth.  For me, that’s something fun and exciting…especially when I have my hands in that dirt on a regular basis.  I only wish I was a little better at it.

Some time in the next month or so – I’ll be bringing up a few topics that I strongly believe in:  polyamory and intentional community.  I know a few folks who have actually linked these two topics together – when they really aren’t…so I’ll be discussing my views on these during the podcast in the near future.  The next show?  I’ll be talking a bit about Beltane, which I don’t celebrate it (or any of the other festivals for that matter) and how that fits into my views…basically a J.A.B.S. (Just Another Beltane Show) podcast episode.

In the meantime…hope everyone’s doing fairly well.  Everything here is going quite well…looking forward to some higher temps (believe it or not I’m actually looking forward to hot weather this year)….
