Thanks to Tropical Storm Lee, the temperatures here in the DFW area are down in the lower 80s (F) for the first time in a long time.  Typically, the temps are around this setting when its dark and about 4am in the morning.  So, its been a nice temperate day for once.  There’s a slight chance for rain – just wish it was a bit more of a chance than is being forecast.  We could certainly use it here.  However, I’ll be thankful enough for the lower temps.

The past few days, I’ve spent trying to square out my potential dissertation topic.  I’ve finally hit my research classes, which has my entire focus changing from wide-ranging topics to the narrow focus that my dissertation will become.  My first attempted focus will be on cyber-terrorism – but I’m not entirely certain that this will fly — particularly in a degree focused on business.  However, I’m going to give it a shot…

Teaching classes has been fun and frustrating.  Some of it has to do with technical issues in getting labs and quizzes to run.  Some of it has to do with the lack of focus some of the students bring to the table in getting their assignments completed.  However, the key is to brute-force everything forward – rather than sitting back and attempting to analyze things.  Analysis can wait for the period between the sessions…right now the focus is to get things going forward.  Students that can’t keep up, will either figure out that they need to kick it into high gear or drop the class and start again the next session.

Still working on the podcast.  I was hoping to have it out earlier this past week — but unfortunately, all the hiccups in the classes takes the primary focus.  But the good news is that I’m over halfway completed with most of the show — with the files ready and in the can.  Still trying to figure out what to use for the Spoken Word segment though.  Trying to avoid using my own poetry for the segment this time…just not 100% sure of what to move forward with…at least at this moment.

I’ve gotten a few Emails from folks wanting me to talk about the “Dominionist” movement in Christianity and the “threat” it poses to the Pagan community as a whole.  Sorry.  I don’t view this anywhere near being the threat that everyone else seems to.  I may do a future show on why I don’t view it as a a looming threat — just not at this particular moment.  I can find a lot more positive topics to speak about before heading down the alarmist path.

Anyways….heading out to foot-surf the sidewalks of the neighborhood….
