I’m a slow reader. I always have been. In my youth, I used to devour books of all types as quickly as I could – never really taking in the stories or the subject matter – except for the moment it sped past my eyes. As I got older, my speed started to decrease, as I took my time in reading the subject matter at hand. It also slowed the pace at which I finish books. But, thanks to GoodReads.com, I now have a goal setup for what I want to accomplish in a year’s time. I started a bit late on the year-long challenge – if I was wanting to start on January 1. Instead, I started on February 1. My goal is to read 40 books this year. Believe me, that’s a lot for this ol’ Pagan. I set a pace of about 75 pages per day (again, that’s quite a lot for my slow reading), and added all the books I believe I will cover over the course of the year. My estimation is that I will finish all of this somewhere around the beginnings of November – provided I continue the pace I have set for myself. The following is that list – including the five books that I have already finished this month.
